A Cronx Tale 06:07

about

Leniz returns to Goldfat with some serious nostalgic flavours, packed with heart and soul.

Opening with title track ‘Changing Tides’ Leniz draws us in with his dream like intro of piano, washing pads and vocal-fx before hitting us with slamming breaks, techno blip arpeggios and rib cage shaking Reese bass. Sounds of way back!

‘Mourning Tears’ takes us back to a more contemporary pace with an effortless liquid jungle track with funky breaks, rushing pads, catchy vocals and a soothing laid back bass. Feels good!

‘Dreamy Flashback’ does exactly what it says on the tin. Amens, angelic vocal samples, deep atmospheric pads and a booming 808. Cue it up, play it, then play it again!

Last up ‘A Cronx Tale’. Written after his last UK trip when he stayed in Goldfat’s home town of Croydon, Leniz slows it back down for the final chapter of his EP. Again drawing deep on his love of old school jungle he switches between classic breaks before hitting us with rich warm 808 licks and perfectly spaced atmospheric samples. An ode to grimey south London vibes to warm the heart of even the most hardened OJ!
